We have some very exciting news for all our Yoshikigoi followers.
Yesterday I had a meeting with the Director Educational Institute Biosciences
Head Department Animal Physiology and Institute for Water and Wetland Research Radboud University The Netherlands and the Head of Research Group Bioanalysis
Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research. Animal Sciences Unit Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences- Department of Bio-analysis- Laboratory of Food Analysis Ghent University Belgium.
We talked about a cooperation in research for health, stress, pigmentation and shine, water parameters and the cohesion/context to health, stress and development with Fish and in our case Koi.
Research regarding locating stress and recovery is already well on the way. It is already possible to see and pinpoint past stress moments including the amount of stress on each and every single Koi. Even when they come from the same pond. That also goes for the speed and recovery after the stress. We will also try to find the reason why after a healing of a large and deep wound a new skin is growing back and not only skin but also the same colour as before. That is already remarkable but even more remarkable is that even the mucus is coming back on that new skin. That means it has to be much more than a scar. Because on a scar this would never happen.
I will place on a regular base updates and the progress of all research. We are very proud to be a part of this exiting news.
